Asus RT-AC3200 wireless router review

Asus RT-AC3200 is one of the latest efficient WiFi routers in 2016. It came up with a plethora of new useful features that some previous routers lack. This router is distinct because of it high speed and quality. It is the right choice for home network as well as offices due to the following characteristics:

- Built-in VPN (=Virtual Private Network)/NAS (=Network-Attached Server) server.

- ASUSWRT graphical user interface that is very familiar to the user and facile to utilize.

- Built-in USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports.

- Has three bands, 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and another 5 GHz, with the ability of automatically selecting

each insisting in the demands and capabilities of devices.

- Ability to keep malware from getting into your network.

- ASUS AiCloud 2.0 which allows the users to have access to their files from everywhere and from

  whatever device.

- Has four Gigabit-LAN ports and one Gigabit-WAN.

 Unique features

As for Tri-band feature, to make it palin for you, Asus RT-AC3200 router can be said to include three separate access points or do the work of three wireless routers because of the fact that it has three bands , 2.4 GHz and 5 two of GHz. Computers have got different wireless cards with different speeds depending on the manufacturer and the year of production. 2.4 GHz is the oldest band that almost all surviving computers support. There is no existing device that does not support this band, given the fact that it is still useful ; also new devices are backward-compatible with this frequency. This band supports 802.11b, 802.11n, and 802.11g Wi-Fi clients working at 600 Mb/s

Regarding 5 GHz bands, it has recently come into existence as the fastest frequency. Old computers are not compatible with this technology. The Asus RT-AC3200 router has come with two bands, 5 GHz for each. It supports clients with 802.11ac, 802.11a, and  802.11n standards. It works at 1300 Mb/s.

The rationale behind having two 5 GHz bands is that the users’ activities on the internet are different, in addition to their supporting speeds, so each device is assigned a band based on its bandwidth consumption. To put it another way, think of a roed of only two lanes and a great number of cars and trucks using it. The overcrowd will result in bottleneck. In contrast, if we add other two lanes to the road, resulting in four lanes, and assigning two lanes for cars and the other two lanes for trucks, the outcome will be that no longer overcrowd and the drivers will drive comfortably. The same is true for Asus RT-AC3200 router.

Powerful hardware

In terms of hardware, Asus RT-AC3200 router has a very robust hardware, which is obvious from its design. It has six detachable antennas which cover a large area. In addition, it runs a BCM4709 dual-core 1GHz processor with 128 MB of flash storage and 256 MB of DDR 3 system memory. The router can be perfectly used as a small server either for storage or other services.

Wonderful Interface and easy setup

Asus RT-AC3200 router has got a very pleasing GUI that allows the users to move from one tab or page to another seamlessly. All you need to do is to plug the router to a power supply and to a computer. Then, type the default IP address to get into the configuration page.  The router is very easy to deal with ; everthing is clearly shown and designed in a professional way.

Protection & security

Asus RT-AC3200 router is protected against attacks, viruses, ans malwares by means of AiProtection which is powered by Trend Micro. It keeps users’ data safe, as well as making clients’ connections free from menaces. However, there is not 100% security. This router protect the client from the latest security threats.

Finally, in view of all these features, I strongly recommend Asus RT-AC3200 router to small business owners, as well as home users, albeit it is a little bit expensive. It is the right choice for users looking for high-speed routers. It distinctively has a plethora of merits which some other routers do not.
